Hello all. I've been told this is the place to look for all thing FAL. I'm a military history buff in my spare time and am looking to get in to FALs. I'm looks for a Rhodie rifle complete or a parts kit. I look forward to learning more about this platform and doing business with you. Bump. #4.Indeed it was a different manual, with 130 pages. I have a select fire G1 put together in 1984-85 using an excellent G1 parts kit from Canada $400, a GSI FN Type 3 receiver $450 and the conversion cost was $200. #13.1. The M1953 type. Current favorite ( subject to change ) is my first FAL. A DSA built stg 58a rifle with the Type II receiver. I replaced the Steyr plastic buttstock with a Belgian walnut unit I modified for the Steyr buttpad.

For a kit, unless you have experience and all the necessary tools, your best bet is to find a kit and have it built by a reputable gunsmith (ARS is the gold standard for FAL builds).
