A Hurst Comp Plus shifter is a good choice but a Saginaw install kit will be needed.Don't know if fits the Saginaw, but GM uses a little green top, plastic drive-into a 5/16"hole, vent assembly on lots of applications-transfer cases /rear ends /manual transmissions. If you have a GM dealer with a patient partsman , he can find it. My auto trans warehouse also has them , maybe try a local rebuilder. Or for $10, I'll send you one.
