Only some metal, crystal and obsidian. Some metal in the volcano would respawn, but some wouldn't and no crystal/obsidian. What worked for me was changing the resource respawn to 0, all the way down. It was on default before. Since then I've upped it and stuff seems to spawning in at a decent rate now.
