The museum reopened to the general public on November 23, 2008. The Intrepid had been brought back to the pier in October of that year. Several aircraft were added or moved from the aircraft carrier before the reopening. In 2011, ownership of the space shuttle Enterprise was transferred to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.You may be denied reciprocal admission if you live within a 90-mile radius of the institution. ASTC Members visiting Intrepid: You must present a valid membership card with the ASTC logo and photo ID when you visit the Intrepid Museum to receive free general admission. Reciprocal institutions do not have access to one another’s membership lists.
